Awesome Melbourne band A Death in the Family used to finish their sets with a great version of this song. It's on the split EP with Manifesto Jukebox. Fantastic song, I want to learn it one day

Well, it is not really that I am angry at religious people, at least not the ordinary ones, I just feel sad for them.

What I do not like is that religion (i.e. the belief in one or another form of supernatural supervision/interference by one or multiple kind of life form(s) called a deity(s), sometimes complemented with associated figures - think holy virgins, angels, spiritual guides, saints) is fully accepted as long as it is organised in a group or officially recognised, while the same behaviour gets people into forced psychiatric care, being considered delusional or "mental".

As for knowing the content of various belief systems, I think I know at least the major "facts" and associated literature of the "big four" (Christianity, Islam, Judaism and Buddhism) both in the form of their image of their god or the lack thereof and in the different teachings surrounding that belief system. Not only that, I also know people in each of these belief systems all of which can be considered "moderate" believers so I do not base my images solely on the occasional fanatic.

On the other hand, my saying I do not do "believing" and associated religion stuff and mentioning that I consider those who do believe to be lacking in life, leads you to conclude I am a fanatic of some form. Should I apply the same logic you use, then I would have to consider all religious people fanatics as they do the opposite of what I do: They believe and they consider non-believers (or even " wrong" believers) to lack in life.

And considering SnowWhite, I think there is equal value in that folk story which is in part an age old oral tradition, blending different stories into one and in part a successful effort by the Grimm brothers to re-write it to fit that day and age's standards as I see value in documents like those present in the bible, quran or torah or the canon:
they collect stories people like to tell each other, spiced up with some advise and mixed with local news at the time. Basically like what you can find in any other bookstore in town. Proza, sometimes poetry, sometimes intriguing and a good read, sometimes crappy and cheap story lines with lousy characters, but all classified under "fiction".

Enjoy your sunday :-)

Ah...ignorance, will you never fail to surprise me?

A circle has no beginning.

For the religious you are the nut.

For you, the religious are the nut.

Quiet frankly, for me...both of you are nuts.

The fact is my friend, there are both ends of the scale. You find morons and jerks from both sides. What you say in your post, is exactly the same as what the religious. You say people of religion are blind, have some sort of human intellect failure and are unable to live basically. The religious say that non-believers are blind to the grace of God, have some sort of human intellect failure and are unable to live.

What a difference.

You try to draw a negative picture of the religious, yet you draw one for yourself. You are no different my friend. You are just on the other end of the scale.

Im tired of religious fanatics who try to impose their beliefs on other people, acting all holy and shit, and I'm tired of people like you acting all smart and taking the worlds many billion believers and putting them under one label. No wonder that even the good ones (from both sides) go biatch on everyones ass.

So take a chill pill, and if you have something against religion, be my guest. Just don't go calling people's belief stupid. Its immature and pathetic. Makes you no different than the religious fanatics.

Mamashaal

PS. You are welcome to say that my belief in God is as real as Snowwhite. The only difference is that you have read SnowWhite but like the rest of the religious fanatics, talk about religion, yet not know squat about it.
