sunday afternoon tunes – Das EFX ‘92-’93

In 1993 Das EFX released the album “Straight Up Sewaside”. It was not really the most sought after hip hop album of the year. Nor were they the best hiphop act or really very popular. But they managed to get everything typical for hip hop in that period together in a good mix:
Jazzy beats, toasting alike rhymin’, dark and underground sounding rap, typical intro’s taken from old movies mixed up with streetlife noise, …
Also it closely followed their 1992 breakthrough album “Dead Serious” both in style as in lyrics.
